TyRx is dedicated to the innovation, development and commercialization of high-value combination medical devices and pharmaceutical products, utilizing robust tyrosine-based resorbable polymer systems in collaboration with world-class partners. TyRx's combination medical device platform derives from a unique family of tyrosine-based resorbable polymers that can be tailor synthesized to possess wide-ranging physical properties including mechanical strength, rate of therapeutic agent release and rate of biological resorption. The polymers have been shown to absorb benignly in-vivo and have received FDA clearance for use in human implant medical devices.
TyRx is currently collaborating with Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX) under the terms of a field-specific sub-license (2003) granted to BSX for the development of next-generation drug release coatings for the TAXUS drug eluting stent which employs TyRx's unique polymer synthesis capability. |
